Through Świstówka Roztocka to the Valley of Five Polish Ponds

widok na góry
The route from Morskie Oko through Świstka Roztocka is a trail for everyone, since it does not require any actual technical prowess. It runs through the area of Świstowa Czuba and Kępa, and along the route, you can enjoy picturesque views.

The trip begins on Palenica Białczańska – you can walk along an asphalt road. Feel free to stop for a second at Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza Waterfall. The blue trail through Świstówka turns several dozen meters in front of the hostel on the Morskie Oko Lake.

The path slowly goes upwards and it is mostly made of stones. You should pay particular attention while walking through the Żleb Żandarmerii in winter, since it is prone to avalanches due to its steepness. Further ahead the road is not difficult at all. Walk among the dwarf pine until you walk out to the grassy Rówień pod Kępą, from where you can admire the beautiful surroundings of Morskie Oko. The road will then take you through the middle of Świstówka, where you can often see grazing chamois or hear the characteristic whistling of a marmot. After climbing the Świstówka Mountain you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Valley of Five Polish Ponds. If you walk down the trail, you will reach the shore of Przedni Staw Polski, where you can also find a hostel.

There are two ways to plan your return to Palenica: along the black trail or along the slightly longer blue trail near Wielka Silkawa Waterfall. Both variants lead to the Roztoki Valley, which ends near the asphalt road by the Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza Waterfall.
